This is fixed term post in surgery for 12 months. This is service post, but successful candidates would have access to all teaching and training opportunities and portfolio and would have to be signed off for Foundation Year 1 competency

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit 2 x Trust Grade Doctor (F1 level) equivalent in General Surgery.

The appointee will be based at Royal Albert Edward infirmary (RAEI) and will be required to support the Trust’s General Surgery workload wherever it is located. Outpatient clinics are located at Thomas Linacre Centre and Leigh Infirmary with surgery being undertaken at RAEI and Leigh Infirmary. The appointee will report to Mr Imran Alam, Clinical Director who will identify the post holders supervision and educational support.

To be responsible, along with other staff, for the care of patients and the maintenance of the patient’s medical record.

To attend the structured teaching programmes as provided by the Department of Medical Education.

An Enhanced DBS with C & A will be undertaken for the successful candidate.

On-Call

Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
