To provide high quality emergency and unscheduled care to the population of Dorchester and its environs, as part of the dedicated Emergency Department team. The duties will be diagnosing, initiating treatment, and arranging further management of patients who attend the Emergency Department. This will include trauma, emergency conditions which self present, or are brought to the department by the emergency services. The post holder will be supported by 24 hour ED middle grade shop floor presence 7 days a week, with 9am to 9pm ED consultant shop floor presence Monday to Friday(on phone for advice or to come in outside of these hours).

Full-shift rota with fixed annual leave. There are weekly 4 hour ED junior doctor teaching sessions which occur in protected time. The post holder will be expected to attend the weekly afternoon teaching sessions (only when they are on shift) and occasionally present a clinicalcase at these sessions. The post holder will also have the opportunity to take part in an audit during their time here.
