About the role…

We have a new opportunity available for an experienced Treasury Manager to join us at Euro Garages Ltd! Asda have recently acquired a large proportion of our UK & Ireland estate and we are currently in a transitional phase which is near completion. The acquisition has led to the creation of a unique Treasury Manager role that will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Treasury operations relating to cash management, liquidity and risk management for the UK business.

Working in collaboration with Asda’s award-winning Treasury Team, as a newly created position within the acquired business you will have the opportunity grow and develop the role, adding value by implementing strategies to improve processes, enhance systems, maximise compliance while minimising risk.

We are seeking a motivated, self-starter with extensive Treasury knowledge & experience who can bring a fresh perspective to the role. This is the perfect opportunity for a Treasury professional to join us as we merge with Asda and embark on a new and exciting journey to revolutionise the convenience market.

Role & Responsibilities

Manage the UK business Treasury team (1 Direct report) reporting to Group Treasury based at Asda Leeds; day-to-day issues and concerns, coaching and developing, driving performance and delivery of the company goals.
Ensuring Treasury operations are efficient, subject to adequate segregation of duty, well documented and managed within company policy and procedures.
Managing the reporting of multi-currency cash, specifically short term liquidity and related banking structures
Manage operational in-country bank structures across UK and Ireland business
Manage the consolidation the UK cash flow forecast and work to challenge and improve the accuracy of forecasting, identifying key movements and drawdown requirements
Monitor, analyse and report on risk management focusing on continuous improvement, including foreign exchange, interest, and liquidity risk
In conjunction with the Tax and Legal Departments, manage the inter-company financing strategy and funding, and related loan documentation
Responsible for the negotiation of the International Swap and Derivative Association (ISDA) documentation with FX and IR counterparties
Management of the guarantees and letter of credit facilities and issuance
Monitoring and interventions to help improve working capital metric

Candidate Requirements

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrates experience in people management.
Results-oriented, capable of maintaining accuracy under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines.
Advanced Excel skills, including Lookups and PivotTables, with expertise in financial modelling.
Comprehensive understanding of treasury markets and products, encompassing transactional banking, cash management, liquidity, and foreign exchange risk management.
A graduate, preferably holding a recognized accounting qualification, AMCT qualified, with a minimum of 5 years of treasury experience, ideally within the retail sector.
Proven track record in treasury operations within a large, international organization, coupled with a solid understanding of UK banking regulations.
Familiarity with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) is preferred, and knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
