Lee Hub - an independent Community Library, is seeking to appoint a new treasurer who will also act as a Trustee to assist the board develop ongoing, and implement, new projects which meet our charitable objectives. The position of a trustee and treasurer is voluntary.

Responsibilities

The treasurer works to ensure that all financial activities remain sustainable and will oversee the management of the accounts to ensure that all income streams are properly accounted for so that Lee Hub uses its resources to achieve its charitable aims.

Additional to the role of a trustee, the treasurer role includes the following specific responsibilities:

· Overseeing, approving, and presenting budgets, accounts, and financial information to the board of trustees.

· Ensuring that the appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place and have appropriate financial

policies, including a policy on reserves.

· Working with the chair and the board to identify the financial management of Lee Hub’s strategic aims.

· Ensuring that accounts are prepared in accordance with financial best practice and meet the requirements of the

Charities Commission, funders, and any relevant statutory bodies.

· Being assured that the financial resources of Lee Hub meet its present and future needs.

Qualifications

A background in finance - accountancy, book keeping or banking.
