An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic strategy and policy professional to join Renfrewshire Council’s Policy and Commissioning Service in the role of Trauma Informed Programme Lead.

Supporting our Head of Policy and Commissioning who has the overall lead for this priority area, we are currently looking for a Trauma Informed Programme Lead to join our Policy and Strategy Team. This role will suit an organised individual with effective influencing skills and a sound knowledge and genuine interest in the principles of trauma-informed practice. A key part of this role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to develop new opportunities, as well as linking to existing practice within services and professional roles.

You will play a key role in developing, coordinating and leading a range of policy activities to take forward the Trauma Informed and Responsive Renfrewshire Programme, developed in response to the Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drugs Commission’s recommendations. Educated to degree or equivalent level, it is essential that you have experience in local government or a similar diverse organisation and a proven record of achievement in public policy, partnership working, project management, strategic planning in local government or in some other relevant policy/partner background. You must also be able to analyse and present complex information, prepare detailed policy briefings on required topics and have effective verbal communication and presentation skills.

It is desirable that you have experience of working in a policy or organisational development environment leading successful organisational change programmes.
