Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The department consists of 10 consultants working on a trauma rota and a further consultant performing only elective surgery. Our department is consultant led and you will be supported in all aspects of the role

Main duties of the job

We are a Trauma Unit, with our local Major Trauma Center in Stoke (North Midlands NHS Trust University Hospital). We also work at Abergele Hospital, which only includes select services. Be the second (non-resident) on call for trauma in a 1 in 10 rota. There is weekly trauma and orthopedic teaching. Extra teaching can be arranged for anyone sitting an exam. We have a good track record for our untrained doctors going on training rotations, successful in their Fellow exams and successful with the CESR applications. We have a great library and staff.
