Transport Planner required for a well-established family-run General Haulage business based in the Cumbria area. Due to the on-going success and profitable business wins our client is seeking a hands-on Transport Planner to join a dynamic and growing team.

Our client specialises in total Transport & Logistics Supply-Chain sectors and work across Pallet Distribution, General Haulage, Bulk Transport, and complete Warehouse solutions.

Transport Planner Position Overview

Within this role you will work closely with skilled Transport professionals to manage the efficient planning the companies mixed and modern fleet. You will be responsible to ensure the fleet is always utilised and in the most cost-effective manner.

The daily duties will vary however the core focus for the role will be to manage the following -
  • Efficiently plan the company’s fleet of vehicles
  • Dealing with Driver queries and managing the Briefing and Debriefing process.
  • Recording of discrepancies and reporting to the relevant team members.
  • Data entry on the traffic management software.

Transport Planner Position Requirements
  • Transport management CPC - Advantageous
  • Excellent UK geographical knowledge
  • Proven Transport Planning experience - Essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of General Haulage.
  • Strong IT and TMS system knowledge
  • Proven experience in managing and briefing/de-briefing drivers - Essential.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills - Essential
Transport Planner - Remuneration
  • Salary £30,000 - £35,000 (Dependant on experience)
  • Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00
  • 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme
