Transport Planner (All Levels) Thatcham, RG19 A leading, multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to further the growth of their Berkshire based transport division, through the appointment of a number of Transport Planners from Assistant grade to Principal. The Transport Planner will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of projects with clients across the public & private sectors. You’ll be joining a successful and social team, using your technical expertise to support the department’s future growth. The Transport Planner will work closely with the Company Directors on important schemes as well as mentoring junior members of the team. Person Specification:
  • A solid understanding of traffic engineering first principles along with demonstrable experience.
  • Experience in the preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
  • Experience of transport modelling software packages such as ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig, and TRICS are essential,
  • Experienced user of AutoCAD & vehicle tracking software
  • An ability to interpret the results of transport models.
  • Transport scheme design and appraisal with knowledge of relevant policy, guidance and advice including DMRB and MfS;
  • Excellent knowledge of national/local design standards e.g. DMRB, MFS 1 & 2, CIHT Policies/Guidance, Local Authority Design Guides;
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills – advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and awareness of Census data sources/analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
  • Experience in the use of micro-simulation models and GIS software is desirable In return for your hard work, the Transport Planner will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package dependent on your experience.
