Quite often these items need installing, which we do too. We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Transport First Line Manager to join our busy Transport team in Worcester. Leading a team of hardworking delivery drivers, you would take responsibility for the smooth operation of our Transport function, ensuring our Customers receive the best quality service – always Interested in the opportunity of joining the UK’s largest multi-user, two-person, home delivery and warehouse specialist? Reporting to the Transport Manager, responsibilities will include; Coaching and developing team members so they are able to reach their full potential Efficient fleet utilisation, through resource planning and cost control (whilst always ensuring the operation is both effective and compliant) Leading the way in legal compliance and safety Identifying opportunities for improved efficiencies within the Transport function; recommending, managing and implementing changes where needed Resource & management of all colleagues within your team, ensuring our Class 1 drivers and Shunters are fully trained in all areas (in particular driver CPC) Decisive and timely decision making which ensures the protection of customer service and our delivery schedule, as well as remaining commercially focused Managing on-site resources (colleagues, vehicles and equipment) to ensure we have everything required in the right place at the right time to not only meet, but also flex, to our Customers changing needs The Ideal Candidate With the amount of applications expected for this position, we will only be able to proceed with candidates who match our essential requirements as stated below: At least 2 years’ operating as a Leader within a transport operation Demonstrable experience in improving transport operations and proven examples of introducing operational excellence Strong people skills – able to influence, coach and develop Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Regulations Full UK driving licence is preferred Able to work in an ever-changing environment with the additional pressure to deliver on time every day Manage the site fleet KPI’s Management of contract maintenance About The Company Our culture thrives on Six core values that form who we are, these are: Innovative I Safe I Respectful I Excellent I Responsible I One Team This job was originally posted as
