The Role
Post: Transport Fire Safety Inspecting Officer Salary: £40,657.00 per annum Grade: FRS D Salary range: £40,657.00 - £46,550.00 per annum Contract type: Permanent Working pattern: Full-time Application closing date: Thursday 23 May 2024 at 16:00 GMT Transport Liaison & Alternative Energy Group (TLAEG) is seeking to recruit a Fire Safety Inspecting Officer to join the team in this exciting and challenging role encompassing London’s transport infrastructure. You will apply the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and The Fire Precautions (Sub-surface Railway Stations) Regulations 2009 within your role to ensure, transport related premises across London are safe for residents, workers, and the public. In addition, you will take on specialist projects, roles, and responsibilities for the team. To apply for this role, you will be required to have a minimum of a Level 4 Fire Safety Certificate. If required, you will be provided with training for the Level 4 Fire Safety Diploma and other courses to enable you to carry out your function. You will be expected to take a proactive role in your study and complete some of the study and course work in your own time to meet assignment deadlines. You will need to be flexible, respond positively to change and be prepared for continuous learning and professional development throughout your career. The regulations governing fire safety are frequently evolving and you will need to ensure that you keep up-to-date and maintain competence. A reasonable level of physical fitness and mobility is necessary as you will be required to inspect the whole premises and take equipment with you to carry out your role. This can also include walking around the surrounding areas of the transport premises as well as reviewing a premises internally. To apply for this job, you will need to: • have a current Level 4 fire safety certificate or above; • be good at meeting and communicating with people representing both internal and external stake holders. • want to drive down the risk of fire in the transport environment. • You will need to be self-motivated, able to work independently, visiting premises on your own and able to manage your own workload. Eligibility
The applicate must have a minimum of a Level 4 Fire Safety Certificate. If the candidate is an existing LFB employee, they must of completed the stage one development folder. For Internal Candidates: If you have completed and submitted all assessment stages for the Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety but have not yet received your certificate, and been signed off your Stage 1 PDR, you may, with your Team Leader and Development Officers support, apply for this role.
