JOB DESCRIPTION

Transport Co-ordinator. Permanent, Dyce, Aberdeen.

Our international client has requested that we search for a Transport Co-ordinator for their base in Dyce, Aberdeen.
The basic role is:
As Transport Co-ordinator you will support the Transport Manager with the co-ordination of road shipments from start to finish, including quotation, ensuring that clients receive excellent customer service care throughout all aspects of their enquiry. You will liaise with internal & external clients for all transport related issues and bookings, for Norwegian and Holland / European trailer traffic.
The transport coordinator is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
” Offering competitive pricing to clients.
” Ensuring jobs awarded are processed and followed through to completion.
” Billing clients as per working SOP’s ” Completing Pre-Alerts / Advising Customs Clearance instructions
” Liaising with the warehouse regarding incoming/outgoing freight. ” Booking Ferry Spaces / Port base etc
” Updating customers on Progress
” Job files are processed and completed within the monthly/year end schedules.
” Load planning for Norway / European Trailers

Experience and skills
Computer literate using Microsoft programmes
Good telephone manner
Ability to multi-task
Team player
Demonstrate forward planning
Local area knowledge
Transport functions
Dangerous goods knowledge
