Role Overview

We are recruiting for a Transport Administrator to provide administration support service to the Transport operation. This role is required to facilitate the accurate and timely completion f routine procedures and to effectively ensure the smooth running of the department.

This role will be predominantly on days with a rota that is 4/7, however a degree of flexibility will be required. Start times will be varied during the day.

How will you contribute?

  • Reporting to Team Manager (Transport).
  • Maintain the Transport IT system and databases as appropriate
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for Transport assembly
  • Liaise with customer warehouses to ensure delivery schedules are adhered to
  • Assist in the day to day running of the transport supporting the management team, including the compiling of statistic as requested for use by the Management team
  • Daily contact with Drivers issuing routes and keys to lorries and ensuring delivery planning s on target
  • Working on both despatch and debrief desks and acting as a point of contract for the Department
  • Carrying out daily licence and tacho checks
  • Answering the phone and responding to queries from stores and management as well as drivers
  • Using Kronos Dimensions time and attendance system – regular liaison with the People and payroll team regarding Driver working hours
  • Administration of Microlise Telematics
  • Ensure action plans are updated and actions followed through
  • Support change programme on ad-hoc basis
  • Support of transport and network project and initiatives
  • To ensure operational targets are met on a weekly and monthly basis. Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department

What will you bring?

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Systems
  • Knowledge of Kronos Time and Attendance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines
  • The depot operates 24/7 therefore it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work.
