YOUR ROLE

Aramark Food Services is currently recruiting for a Training Manager to join our team in Onley Park, Rugby. We have a new opportunity for the right candidate to join Aramark as we embark to Mobilise, support and provide the training for staff and prisoners at HMP Five Wells. A Brand-new prison that is being built 2021/22. The Training Manager will support the mobilisation and set up of the training with the General Manager and the Aramark Operational Team.


This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week.


Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Training, and record keeping, for both Aramark Staff and Prisoners.
  • Ensuring that the NVQ programme is upheld and identifying potential candidates for the NVQ programme.
  • Training new PCOs, in basic food hygiene and servery worker training.
  • The Training Manager is also responsible for all aspects of the training kitchen/staff mess.
  • Planning NVQ training in accordance with the programme.
  • Induct new candidates onto the NVQ
  • Complete practical demonstrations for NVQ candidates
  • Coach and mentor Candidates through theory questions for NVQ
  • Interviewing new kitchen workers (prisoners) as required.
  • Instruct prisoners in Health and Hygiene
  • Train prisoners and staff in the use of all kitchen equipment
  • Keeping up to date records of Prisoner and Staff.
  • Assist where necessary in food preparation in main kitchen when necessary.
  • Train wing servery workers in health and Hygiene
  • Discuss new ideas with Manager.
  • Ensure all food storage areas, utensils and equipment are regularly cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule and meet with all the requirements of Health and Safety and Food Safety legislation.
  • Ensure knowledge of the operation of any kitchen equipment you are required to use.
  • Identify any further training needs for all staff and action as appropriate.
  • Assist, where necessary, in food preparation for any functions.
  • Maintain component hygiene standards, within the main catering areas and monitor client’s servery areas by completing servery check lists.
  • Follow company or component policy in dealing with customer comments or complaints
  • Comply with health & safety regulations, fire policy and report hazards to management
  • Responsible for the training kitchen/staff mess menu writing, costing, advertising, new food concepts etc.

Key Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 Culinary or equivalent
  • Food hygiene certificate - Level 3
  • Health & Safety Level 2
  • TAQA or A1 Equivalent Assessing qualification is essential
  • PTTLS or Equivalent Teaching Qualification is essential
  • Previous experience in a Food Production role within catering or retail
  • Good level of spoken English
  • Level 2 Barista Skills or above is desirable
  • Previous experience in a training large groups and managing a curriculum is preferred
