Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) are recruiting for a Training Manager to deliver training and development programmes in line with agreed training strategy for ADC UK. The role of Training Manager will ensure that ADC employees are competent and capable to impact in their roles and create and nurture a good talent pipeline to feed into succession plans within ADC and the wider Abbott business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements.

  • Develop and deliver all initial training programmes, development and other training required by own division and pan-division when requested. Work cross functionally as required. All training to be run within allocated budget.

  • Work proactively with Line Manager, Regional Manager and Sales force to identify training needs to maximize impact of training on business plan achievement.

  • Manage performance of all training course delegates, providing written or verbal feedback to sales management and to line manager as necessary.

  • Support the implementation of new initiatives within own division as applicable, work cross functionally in the identification of behavioural training outcomes that will support brand plan execution.

  • Support ADC in the form of other training including new campaign support, conferences, workshops and field travel.

  • Provide line manager, Regional Management and other key personnel (as required) with timely and regular verbal and written feedback on training activity completed and ongoing.

  • Support line manager in personal development planning with ADC as well as shaping and delivering required training interventions to progress the personal development competency in ADC.

  • Support line manager with the talent management and succession planning process for ADC sales function including the identification of high potential and high performing individuals and they’re in and out of role development to ensure readiness for key sales positions.

Education and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Training qualification would be helpful but not essential

  • Previous Sales experience and experience of working with the NHS is highly desirable

  • Demonstrate potential to be innovative and creative in approach to both design and delivery of training programmes

  • Possess excellent communication skills and presentation skills

  • Able to support and motivate individuals through challenging training programmes, demonstrate good coaching and counselling skills.

  • Able to plan and manage large training projects and have the drive to see projects through to completion
