An exciting opportunity has become available for a Training Manager to join our HR Team at our Willand, Cullompton UKP Site.

The Training Manager will be responsible for the induction and training for all UKP & temporary staff. They will ensure that all records are up to date and tracked and that all records and associated administration are compliant with internal and external retailer / audit requirements.

Through the management and co-ordination of the, training facilitators and Trainer / Assessor, the Training Manager will develop a pragmatic and focussed L&D Strategy and training programme to support the factory through the delivery of additional skills, flexibility and shop floor development. The role will include co-ordination and control of the Shop Floor 121 meetings in addition to developing the Union Learning activities, organising Factory Tours, Apprenticeship sourcing, liaison with internal technical training team and organising external training.

This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong communication and influencing skills, an attention to detail combined with an open mind and creative thinking. They will have worked in a similar training coordination role within a manufacturing sector.

This is where you come in…

As the Training Manager you be responsible for the administration of all UKP L&D activities, staff and operative. You will manage the training database and generate the monthly MI reports on training hours / days for all site training, while ensuring all legal and compliance training is in date.

You will continually review and maintain the induction package for UKP, staff and contractor roles. Along with being the point of contact for all inductions and responsible for ensuring we have trained resource to conduct inductions.

You will develop in conjunction with Union Official the Union Learning Activities Programme & Resource, point of contact for the arranging and conducting factory tours and be the liaison for our Corporate Social Responsibility.

You will be part of the HR Team and support, design & facilitate initiatives and key Management training requirements

About you
  • Experience in a similar Training coordination position with a Manufacturing sector
  • Diploma/Degree in L&D or Training
  • Train the Trainer Qualification
  • Experience in Succession plans, Employment Levy & Site training strategies
  • Clear passion for training and development
  • Excellent admin skills
  • Excellent IT Skills including excel, word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Self-starter and motivator of others
  • Knowledge and previous exposure to:
  • Problem Solving Techniques
  • H&S & Food Safety Legislation
  • Employee & Union Relations
