Here at Bluebird Care Trafford, we are a progressive and forward-thinking care provider, with ambitions to grow and be the best in the business. We consider that quality training and development for our workforce, is pivotal in achieving our aims.

As such, we are currently seeking a suitably experienced, dynamic and qualified person to become our Training and Personnel Development Manager.

This is a full-time role, based at our Altrincham office, where you will benefit from:

  • A competitive salary of 25 – 30k, depending upon skills and experience
  • Enrolment in our NHS ‘top up’ healthcare plan and Employee Assistance Programme
  • 20 days leave, plus 8 days bank holiday
  • Birthday as leave after 1 year’s service
  • A modern, spacious office environment, where free parking is available
  • A supportive management structure

Our ideal Training and Personnel Development Manager will need to be a professional self-starter, who can motivate and enthuse others about working in the care profession.

You will need to have experience and attainment within the health and social care industry, as well as some form of teaching qualification, which would need to be a minimum of level 3 (e.g. PTTLS, AET, or equivalent).

Experience of planning, designing and delivering staff learning programmes is important, along with a proven ability to support the ongoing learning and development of staff.

Your key responsibilities would be to develop and implement a training strategy to ensure that our staff are suitably qualified to meet the needs of our home care business. This will be a blended approach, consisting of classroom-based teaching, e-learning, remote learning and field-based learning activities, using internal and external resources.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering training courses to all levels of staff
  • Mentoring new starters through a comprehensive induction and on-boarding process, to include regular supervision
  • Working with line managers to address specific training needs/performance matters
  • Managing a training budget, ensuring methods used are cost effective
  • Ensuring accurate training records are kept and that compliance is maintained
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programmes
  • Building positive relationships with colleagues and external partners, working closely with our recruitment team and other senior management

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have a full driving license/access to a car for work and be able to occasionally work outside of standard office hours, to suit business needs.

We are a close team, who work collaboratively and welcome likeminded, innovative thinkers who will strive to exceed standards, and promote a positive culture within our business.
