The Bar Council represents the nearly 16,000 barristers in England and Wales. It promotes the Bar’s high quality specialist advocacy and advisory services; fair access to justice for all; the highest standards of ethics, equality and diversity across the profession; and the development of business opportunities for barristers at home and abroad.

The Bar Council is the governing body and the Approved Regulator for the Bar of England and Wales. It discharges its regulatory functions through the independent Bar Standards Board.

We are looking for a Training and Events Coordinator to join our busy, dynamic and energetic team. The position will offer the ideal opportunity to develop your skills in this demanding but rewarding industry.

Based within the wider Services team of The Bar Council, the Training and Events Coordinator will join a team of three others in the Training and Events team to help coordinate and deliver an extensive training and events portfolio. The Training and Events Coordinator will work closely with their team as well as other teams across the Representation, Policy and Services department to deliver training, seminars, lectures and 2-3 large-scale events each year. The majority of these are commercial operations and therefore careful financial planning skills will be required. While budgets will be set by management, it is essential that the Training and Events Coordinator contributes to negotiations, planning and seeks out new commercial opportunities, to ensure financial success within the portfolio.

Events experience within a fast-paced environment is crucial, ideally across a variety of events. The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability show initiative by working independently as well as within a team. The Training and Events Coordinator’s responsibilities include the coordination, logistics planning and administration of training sessions and events from conception through to completion; working with a variety of stakeholders to achieve this. As such, strong attention-to-detail and customer service skills are required. The successful Training and Events Coordinator must be able to develop strong relationships with professional audiences.
