We have an exciting new opportunity for a full time Hiring, Training and Development Co-ordinator to join us here in the vibrant market town of Wetherby.

Training at Work Group Limited is the parent company for Save Lives at Work. We are a superbly close knit and friendly team based in spacious, modern offices in the heart of Wetherby. We are one of the UK’s leading providers of First Aid, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Fire Marshal trainers and as such we are members of several awarding bodies.

We help business owners and managers protect their employees by having qualified first aiders and industry specific health and safety personnel fully trained within their business. Our clients range from global companies with thousands of employees to small independents and sole traders. Our mission is to provide the best training in the industry, and we strive to keep every business we work with informed, safe and compliant.

We are recruiting a Hiring, Training and Development Co-ordinator to support the management team in successfully recruiting and onboarding new staff members, as well as further developing the skills of our existing team.

Salary - £25k

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding and training new starters in the company
  • Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
  • Developing ongoing training for existing staff members
  • Conducting training needs analysis with individuals and across the organisation
  • Design and expand training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
  • Assist with hiring new staff members, including reviewing applications and interviewing candidates.
  • Reviewing performance of staff at the end of their training and probation periods, as well as monthly assessments, alongside department managers
  • Conducting Appraisals
  • Helping the management team to solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
  • Supporting other administrative support & HR functions as the business requires
  • Promote the retention of staff
  • Recognise areas of change and growth

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Charisma and enthusiasm; you should be confident leading and motivating others.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills
  • The ability read a room and team of people
  • Adjusting to people’s learning needs to provide them the most effective training experience
  • Can deal with change and flexibility
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Powerpoint or other presentation software packages
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • To be able to think fast on your feet
  • Innovative and creative mindset
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals

Required Experience

We would ideally like someone with professional training & development experience, however we would also encourage applicants with demonstrable leadership and sales experience and an interest in training & development.

Desirable Skills

  • eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate
  • Learning Management Systems such as Moodle.

Desirable Experience

  • Developing learning plans
  • Onboarding new staff

  • Strong sales knowledge and skills
