Details:

The Role of a semi Skilled operative is to be the go-to person responsible for the manufacture and assembly of high-quality flagpoles and other bespoke items, training will be provided. You will support and assist areas of the business that require production and organisational tasks to be completed as part of the wider manufacturing and organisational operations.

Skilled Operatives are responsible for ensuring that products leave us to the highest quality possible and in a timely manner. You will be provided with the resources and materials that are needed to undertake your tasks. As a skilled operative you will be required to move materials and supplies to and from the point of need as well as assisting in the general site organisation and tidiness.

Staff at all levels in our business are responsible for, and contribute towards, the quality and success of our business. By providing support to our management team, Skilled Operatives are a link in the chain between our products and our customers which is important to the overall success of the company.

Major Areas of Responsibility: (Training required to carry out these tasks will be provided)

  • Assembly of flagpoles
  • Servicing of flagpoles and other metal work products
  • Measuring and assembling goods in the factory or warehouse
  • Operating production equipment
  • Storing goods and raw materials in the factory or warehouse
  • Preparing materials for use by other production staff
  • Moving materials / finished goods to the appropriate location.
  • Using lifting equipment and forklift trucks (where training has been given)
  • Packing goods ready for shipment
  • Cleaning and maintaining machinery
  • Maintain the working areas of the Production facility ensuring they are clean, tidy and organised fashion and that Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Supporting Chief Engineer in day-to-day tasks
  • Site work where required
  • Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Directors or other senior managers.

Work Environment:

You will work within our modern production facilities at our Chesterfield premises under the Flagmakers Division. You’ll mainly work in a factory or warehouse and may spend a lot of your time standing while operating machinery or sitting at a workbench or assembly line.

You will join our established teams who will be on hand to provide help and support as you start and learn the role. You will be able to draw on many resources to deliver the tasks required. This is a full time, Permanent role. Standard hours 40hrs per week.

Person Specification

Requirements:

· High attention to detail

· Good work ethic and a Can-do attitude.

· Strong ability to manage own workload.

· Self-starter.

· Proficient in power tools or similar.

· Experience in working within a manufacturing environment, desirably with metals.

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Full Driver’s license - You may occasionally be asked to deliver orders locally through quiet periods.

Desirable:

· Forklift truck license
