Location:Hereford, HR4 7PUSalary:£22K - £25K, DOEContract:Full time, PermanentDo you have an interest in construction, softwood frames, roofs floors or similar?Do you want to be a part of the design process for our client’s dream bespoke oak framed homes, garden buildings, garages or extensions?Read on!We are Oakwrights, we have been building beautifully styled homes on behalf of our customers since 1999, we extend properties, add a little extra space for guests or a child returning from university, we make the dreams and aspirations of our customers come true!We are now looking to engage with candidates who have an interest in, or transferable experience in designing and producing models, material cost checks and the construction industry in general!Following on from your training, you will be responsible for:
  • Designing and producing sketch up models, imagery and quotations for the client.
  • Carrying out full material and labour ’take off’ from sketch / proposal / planning drawings and general cost checking against first budget costings within a pre-and-post contract situation.
  • Assisting in the quarterly material cost checks and subsequent updating of materials costing sheet
  • Assisting in the smooth running of the CRM system, by correctly inputting the data
  • Updating the CVR excel sheets alongside the internal Oakwrights sheets
  • Regular discussion with design to ensure products/materials are correct
  • Developing a greater understanding of Oak framing and estimating to support the smooth running of the estimating department and potential areas for growth
  • Working to and achieve monthly target whilst retaining good communication skills and a friendly manner.
  • Attending client meetings, handover meetings and internal model reviews as required
To be successful in this role, you will have a selection of the following:
  • Interest (experience an advantage) in a construction, softwood frames, roofs, floors or similar environment.
  • A high level of experience in excel
  • Good time management skills
  • Good communication skills and friendly manner when dealing with clients or staff.
  • A positive approach and positive facility for minimising problems.
  • A wide-ranging general interest (experience an advantage) of Timber construction oak frame building and our Country Buildings.
  • A keen interest in: eco-building, modern methods of construction, pre-fabrication and off-site construction, Passivhaus / low energy building.
  • A wide-ranging interest (experience an advantage) of building custom and practice or willing to rapidly develop this.
