We are looking for Trainee Assistant Sales Managers at one of our Rotherham branches

Overview

Betfred, the UK’s largest independent operator of High Street betting shops, have vacancies for Trainee Assistant Sales Manager.
There will be a 6-month training period after which the position will have keyholder responsibilities.

Working as part of a team, you are responsible for providing excellent service to customers in our retail shops. You must be a confident person who likes talking to people and will promote our products face to face out in the customer area.
Being socially responsible is very important to us and a key part of your role will be to ensure that our think 21 policy is put into practice, so you must be comfortable in being able to ask younger customers for ID to prove their age.
Whilst an interest in sports and betting is an advantage, full training will be given and it is more important to us that you are enthusiastic and positive. We adopt and promote from within policy and are always looking for people who want to progress their career.
For legal reasons you must be over 18 years of age and hours will be flexible and include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be the first point of contact for customers in our shop, answering questions in relation to betting and Betfred products.
Actively support your shop manager with the delivery of successful sales campaigns.
Floorwalk / Host to maintain retail standards and enhance customer service.
Use your knowledge/interest in sport to create conversation with customers to ensure they have an excellent experience whilst using Betfred services.
Engage with customers to ensure they enjoy the Betfred betting experience.
Work closely with the shop manager and team members to promote new Betfred products and marketing campaigns to increase sales for the shop.
Process customer bets ensuring information is entered correctly into the till systems.
Ensure that any machines in the shop are maintained to a high standard, liaising with the retail helpdesk with any issues.
Carry out any administrative duties in line with the requirements of the shop.
Ensure the shop is presentable at all times.
Work to ensure we meet our social responsibilities including adhering to the Think 21 policy.
Follow company processes to ensure high Health and Safety standards
Adhere to cash handling and bet processing procedures at all times.
Once you have completed a structured 6 month training program you will: Be responsible for managing a team including cashiers and a cleaner within a cash-handling retail environment during appointed times when you manage the shop.
Be a key point of contact for customers in your shop, answering questions in relation to betting and Betfred products and minimising any customer issues.
Ensure your shop is presented to a high standard at all times, instructing the cleaner where necessary.
Manage security measures in your shop and ensure that all team members are aware of procedures and adhere to them at all times.
Manage the cash control and banking procedures for your shop.
Liaise with Studio team at Head Office in regard to trading limits and referencing.
Ensure effective management and guidance of staff breaks when managing.

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment.
Experience of working in the betting or gambling industry.
Previous experience of cash handling.
Confident communicator, able to enter into conversations with regulars and new customers.
Ability to work under pressure, there are peak times for our shops depending on sporting seasons.
Ability to work as part of a team.
GCSE Maths desirable, you will be working with numbers and odds.
