The successful candidates will have an extensive knowledge of Cellular pathology and will be trained in extended specimen dissection. The successful candidate will undergo internal training and will work towards achieving the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection.Once achieved the trainee will move into a Band 8a role.The successful candidate must have good interpersonal and organisational skills, be self-motivated, and work well under pressure in a team environment, to assist in achieving Trust and Departmental objectives.The posts will be based in Cellular Pathology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.The role will include specimen allocation, dissection, and preparation of appropriate tissues for diagnosis.
