Edinburgh Bus Tours, part of the Lothian family, is one of Scotland’s top paid-for visitor attractions and offers a five-star visitor experience. We help 650,000 visitors discover Edinburgh each year. We offer 4 different tours, each one creating a unique and memorable experience for our visitors.
Our Guides are responsible for providing an entertaining and informative tour of Edinburgh on an open top bus; although no written script is provided, guidelines will be provided for the content of the tours, and guides must have the ability to interpret the cultural heritage of the City.
This is a seasonal position however there is the opportunity to return the following season.
Tour Guide* Requirements*
- No experience required! Our Tour Guides come from a wide variety of backgrounds however good cultural knowledge of Edinburgh and its history is desirable
- To be customer focusedto understand, anticipate and deliver on the customers’ needs and expectations
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Actively listens and uses a varied tone of voice to capture audience attention
- Displays high standards of personal appearance, tidiness and time keeping
- Actively supports and contributes to the EBT team

As July and August are our busiest times, we are unable to give holidays during this time however holiday pay will be accrued.
