Diverse British Manufacturing organisation, exporting goods to over 50 countries worldwide, seeks an experienced Tool Maker to work within an established team. As Tool Maker, your role would be to regrind and rebuild various Progression Press Tooling, using conventional machinery. The successful candidate for the role of Tool Maker would be a time served Tool Maker with a strong manufacturing and press tooling background, with extensive experience in tool making and a time served apprenticeship. The position of Tool Maker is offered as a permanent contract with competitive salary (dependent upon experience), flexible working hours between 36 and 40 hours per week, dependent upon work requirements, modern, clean working environment and immediate start available. Tool Maker job responsibilities include:-Tool splitting
  • Disassembly and reassembly of tools
  • Replacing component parts, dies, punches and springs
  • Tool regrinding
  • Problem solving and tool improvement
  • Ensure that all tooling records are updated and complete
  • Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Ensure that good quality product is produced to a high standard
  • All parts produced are correct to drawing
  • Use of grinders, milling machines, lathe and general engineering equipment Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of Tool Maker:
  • Minimum six years’ Tool Making experience
  • Time served apprenticeship
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to run shop equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to interpret drawings
  • Set up and operate machine shop equipment i.e. lathes, mills, grinders
  • Ability to maintain detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis
  • Must be motivated and able to work on own initiative
    Location: Redditch, Worcestershire Hours of Work: Mon-Thurs 7 am to 4.30 pm, Fri 7 am to 11 am
