As a Tool Hire Area Workshop Manager with Jewson you will be responsible to ensure compliance and adherence to the standards of service for the hire assets. This is achieved by monitoring stock and delivering a fast return on repaired equipment, the management of the area workshop and maintaining all company and industry H&S regulations.

As a Tool Hire Area Workshop Manageryou will take control of:

  • Manage the area workshop fitter team, focusing on productivity and carrying out appraisals, recruitment and succession planning.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Hire Fleet within the workshop.
  • Monitoring and controlling maintenance and expenditure.
  • Overall responsibility for Health and Safety procedures for the branch ensuring all measurements, including TF1 figures are achieved to target
  • Conduct technical audits and action plans.
  • Ensure effective stock utilisation, by managing stock levels and making suggestions on stock investment.
  • Assisting with training on new products and supporting the team.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, and participate in stock take duties as required
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures (HR, Health & Safety, Business Controls, etc)

To be suitable for the Tool Hire Area Workshop Managerrole you will have:

  • Experience of working in a similar workshop environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage a team (desirable).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Commercial awareness and a good level of numeracy is essential.
  • Knowledge of petrol and diesel engines is preferred.
  • Experience of mechanics and the repair of electrical and hydraulic equipment (desirable).
  • Experience in contractor’s plant and tools is essential.
  • Must be able to demonstrate previous experience of providing excellent customer service.
