Starting salary: Up to £13.00/hr dependant on experience

We are a long standing business manufacturing high quality stainless steel material handling devices for the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Due to continued growth we are looking for an experienced TIG Welder/Fabricator to work full time in our workshop.

The successful candidate would be trained to complete our bespoke lifting equipment (see www.mechandling.co.uk for examples) from kit form. Ideally the candidate will have good understanding of engineering principles and will be able to work from engineering drawings, unsupervised, and to a high standard. You will need an eye for detail and also be able to do the following accurately: - measure, cut, drill and assemble.

You must be reliable, self-motivated and professional with meticulous attention to detail and able to follow our exacting quality standards.

Experience polishing steel would also be advantageous.

Hours of work - 40 hours per week: 7-30am-4:20pm Monday – Thursday with 20 mins for lunch, 7:30am to 1:30pm Friday.

Rate of pay up to £13.00/hr dependent on experience. Overtime may be available.

Experience:

  • TIG welding: 3 years (Essential)
  • Stainless Steel Fabrication: 2 years (Essential)
  • Be able to work to engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Be able to work under their own initiative.
  • Good communicator
  • Ideally have served an engineering apprenticeship with an approved body.

Target start date: ASAP
