Our client, an innovative MSP, are currently looking to recruit for a Third Line Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The Third Line Engineer will be responsible for providing support, up to third line, for a range of clients. The Third Line Engineer will be working on a combination of BAU and project work.

Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is advantageous for the Third Line Engineer.

Key Responsibilities For The Third Line Engineer
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to an extensive client base.
  • Support our team with new server and IT system deployments
  • To install and maintain IT and communications systems in line with specifications, to ensure client requirements and deadlines are met, and that systems are fully secure.
  • Assist in providing diagnosis and resolution of issue tickets, maintaining a high level of 1st time fixes.
  • To act as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd Line Service Desk Engineers by offering support and technical assistance, to aid in the resolution of client queries.
  • Respond appropriately to technical issues raised, through resolution or escalation.
  • Prioritisation and management of workload to ensure contractual SLAs are met, whilst leading and guiding junior engineers to do the same.
Skills And Knowledge Required For The Third-Line Engineer
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems including Windows 7/8/10
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Server Operation Systems including Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Technologies including but not limited to Exchange, Hyper-V and Active Directory
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Cloud services and technologies
  • General knowledge and hands-on experience of IT principles and technologies such as DHCP, DNS, TCP /IP, Switches/Routers/Firewalls and virtualisation
