We are currently looking for a Test Engineer to join the Test Engineering team in Eastleigh.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow Tesco Bank testing processes and techniques while carrying the following tasks:
  • Analyse user stories and requirements to become fully immersed and develop subject matter expertise of solution at hand
  • Identify, understand and implement test data needs
  • Collaborate closely with Analysts, Engineers and SMEs
  • Perform manual testing (exploratory and non-functional), record results and log defects
  • Continuously assess and refactor test scenarios
  • Support test manager and leads in assessing test effort for planned work
  • Contribute to the maintenance of documentation to share knowledge with the wider test team
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and solutions to evolve the efficiency and effectiveness of testing
  • Provide feedback on the techniques, solutions and tools used in Tesco Bank.

Experience & Technical skills:

  • Proven hands-on testing experience
  • Knowledge of:
  • Structured test methods and processes
  • Common software designs
  • Risk based approach to testing
  • Experience working in collaborative agile or waterfall development environments, preferably using BDD
  • Good working knowledge or understanding of at least one programming or scripting language
  • Manual and functional testing experience
  • Delivery focused approach with an attention to detail
  • Insurance industry experience would be advantageous
