Test and Repair Technician

The Company:

E-Trac is precision engineering company that tests and repairs electrical/electronic modules from railway vehicles. We are looking for a Test and Repair Technician to undertake the overhauls and testing of larger electrical modules.

The Candidate:

You must be able to work responsibly within our small team, often on your own initiative. You should have previous mechanical assembly experience (railway or aircraft fitter is ideal). You will be responsible for working safely in a potentially hazardous environment. Computer skills and basic use of MS office programs is essential. You should be able to work alone and set your own work priorities.

Skills required (although training can be given):

• Torque tightening

• Mechanical fixings assembly

• Crimping (large and small connections)

Education:

• ONC, A-levels or equivalent level 3 qualification - Mechanical/Electrical (desirable)

Responsibilities:

• Initial preparation for testing/repair, such as, cleaning and disassembly

• Basic electrical testing using a laptop and simple test tools

• Precise mechanical assembly

• Final testing and inspection

Hours:

40 hours per week

Location:

The place of work will be Godalming, Surrey
