We are looking for a Temporary Works Designer to work on our capital works programme with United Utilities, delivering a wide range of fascinating water and wastewater treatment projects. With an ever-growing order book on AMP 7 and looking forward to delivering AMP 8, we are looking to add new talent to our multidisciplinary team.

You will:
  • Work within our fully integrated design & build team, designing and delivering water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects through providing temporary works designs as required.
  • Be responsible for temporary works designs working with project leads and our construction teams to deliver our schemes.
  • Coordinate alongside the project teams on requirements for temporary works and completing design to allow the site teams to progress.
  • Work as part of a team Project triangle alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of temporary works are considered throughout.
  • Build positive relationships with the client project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one-team" approach.
  • Visit sites across the Severn Trent Water region as required to develop temporary works designs.

Candidate Specification

Candidate Specification:
  • ICE-accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered or Incorporated member of the ICE or demonstratable progress made in attaining the ICE attributes.
  • Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
