Confident, friendly and mature Art Tutor wanted to teach adult students part-time in Gloucester.

Opportunity for an experienced, mature and friendly tutor on a temporary basis initially (14 weeks)

  • Easy to follow curriculums and art materials supplied
  • Tuesday mornings and all day Wednesday
  • Fabulous students: adult beginners and improvers.

We are looking for a wonderful part-time Art Tutor for one and a half days per week (Tuesday morning and Wednesday all day), for our 14 week summer course which will run from 25th June 2024.

Our courses are for adult students who are at beginner and improver level, and they consist of four modules: Drawing, Oil pastels, Watercolours and Acrylics.

You must have good experience of teaching or tutoring adult students for this role. Ability to confidently demonstrate good artwork in pencil, oil pastels, watercolours and acrylic paint is essential.

Job Requirements:

About you:

  • You’ve worked in similar roles before and have strong experience in tutoring art to groups or individuals.
  • You are capable of producing good artwork in pencil, pastel, watercolour and acrylic paint and feel comfortable demonstrating your skills to groups of up to 20 people.
  • You are friendly and approachable, and have great communication skills which you use to build strong relationships with your students.
  • You’re able to think on your feet and respond honestly to the demands of the students.

Job Responsibilities:

About the job:

  • Before each week’s class you will be required to prepare demonstration artwork based on the curriculum, guidelines, visual material and video demos provided.
  • Assist the branch owners with the set up of the room and equipment and pack away at the end of the sessions.
  • You’ll engage with our adult learners, building rapport to create a fun, nurturing and welcoming environment.
  • Show students how to use different mediums and techniques and demonstrate how to create drawings and paintings.
  • Provide one-to-one support and answer questions in class.
  • Support learners in three x 3 hour sessions, (AM and PM over the 2 days)
