Flomatik Network Services are seeking a telecoms/utility focused field surveyor to join our teams based in the South of the UK. You will be tasked to work on a major new works / projects for leading telecoms companies within the UK alongside our existing Surveyors. The focus of the work will be to survey 3rd party infrastructure to assess and record its suitability and document any proposed network upgrades/installations. The role will be based from home reporting to a central project team on a daily basis to confirm scheduled works, completion of external survey tasks and ongoing task management.
This role will be a permanent position.
Main Outline Duties and Person Requirement:

  • Surveying 3rd party utility infrastructure for the placement of Telecoms equipment in an external environment or installation.
  • Survey of various telecommunications plant is essential for this role, but training will be provided to the right candidate if experience is limited.
  • Other surveying work will also be undertaken and training will be provided.
  • Taking GPS measurements, digital images as appropriate, recording plant suitability and identifying risks.
  • Owning, executing and delivering survey requirements within a geographic region.
  • Highlight and escalate major variances to the nominated desk based planner.
  • Flexible approach in dealing with amendments to allocated information.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all survey submissions and work is completed on time with accuracy.

The Typical personal attributes (skills, aptitude and understandings) might include:

  • Civils and or cabling experience in a Telecoms environment.
  • PIA experience would be beneficial to the applicant.
  • External site survey experience (requirement for NRSWA Street works qualification Unit 2) with experience of mobile work setup. This is a requirement for this work.
  • Ability to communicate well, able to work with key stakeholders internally within Flomatik and with our clients.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A total awareness and understanding of current health and safety procedures is essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC literate – additional Flomatik and client specific applications will be required (training will be provided where necessary)
  • A clean, valid and appropriate UK driving licence will be required to perform this role as driving is required

The Process:
Due to the current COVID restrictions, interviews will be held remotely via MS Teams or similar
Physical Demands
This role is based full-time remotely. Prolonged periods of driving and physically walking to inspect telecoms infrastructure hardware/street furniture will be required to fulfil this role.
