We’re looking for motivated, positive and driven individual that has both knowledge and skills in installing and repairing hosted telephony and broadband services, to join our service team!

We are a telecommunications company based in Preston, Lancashire with over 30 years’ experience in the telecoms industry. As an expanding Telecommunications company with exciting plans for the near future; this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT Support Operative/ telecoms service engineer to join a reputable organisation. What the role involves?

As an IT Support Operative working for a fast-growing Telecommunications Company you will be responsible for dealing with provisioning cases from the order acceptance to the in service date. We are looking for someone that can work in an efficient manner to provide quick delivery of new and upgrade services to partners and clients, via our direct sales channel.

Ideally we are looking for someone that has previously worked in a delivery role for a carrier or re-seller of hosted telephony and broadband services, and will have strong working knowledge of the process, although initial training will be given you must be able to demonstrate a full understanding of hosted telephony/VOIP from implementation and build to ongoing support and service issues.

You will be involved in the following duties:

  • Attending Customer premises to install telephony equipment when required
  • Arranging the amendments of existing services
  • Working with supplier online portals to manage case queues - new provide, amend, upgrade or cessation
  • Providing real time administration to IP telephony products. (VOIP & SIP)
  • Taking calls from clients, ensuring that cases are being updated accordingly and communicated effectively Ensuring that accurate and up to date case notes are being kept on CRM Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

As an IT Support Engineer, you will need to have previous experience in a similar role, ideally from a carrier.

Skills and attributes required for the role:

  • MINIMUM 3 YEARS TELECOMS EXPERIENCE
  • MUST HAVE CABLING EXPERIENCE
  • VOIP EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Process and team driven
  • Experience with Broad soft platforms/Astrerix would be highly advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willing to attend customer premises whenever necessary
  • Experience of cabling
  • Experience of installing telephony systems
  • Great customer service skills in person and over the phone Benefits

What hours will I be working?

Hours range between 8.30 - 5.45 Monday to Friday. Potential out of ours work due to our 24/7 customer support line that we currently rota for weekends and evenings.
