What will you be doing?

As the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for business continuity, support, management and development of the IT technical infrastructure and associated operational systems / applications within the Society.

The Technical Services Team is responsible for the design, delivery and technical success of the Societys IT infrastructure and associated supporting architecture and will be instrumental in delivering the technical aspects that underpin the Societys business strategy.

What type of person will you need to be?

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Proven track record of successfully leading both physical and virtual teams.
  • Experience in dealing with third-party service providers.
  • Operational ability in a diverse environment.
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of escalation procedures, incident management, and other disciplines related to service delivery.
  • Mastery of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles.
  • Solid resource planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A calm, balanced and decisive attitude in an emergency, with the ability to co-ordinate efforts to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience of chairing Service Review meetings with clients, and preparation/interpretation of report inputs to the session.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud and infrastructure products and services.
  • A technical background to be deal with the demands of this role experience coordinating installations, upgrades, and maintenance on IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to identify software needs.
  • Knowledge of architecture processes and performance reports of operating systems.
  • Experience in information technology space and solving various software and hardware problems.
Desirable Skills/experience
  • Welsh language (written/spoken).
  • Previous experience working in a Building Society or Financial Services.
