We have an opportunity available for a Technical Sales Specialistto join our team based in Bridgwater covering theNorth.You will join us on a full-time, permanent basisand in return, you will receive a competitive salary

Monmouth Scientific Limited(MSL) is a market leading UK based manufacturer of clean air solutions (Filtration Fume Cabinets, Biological Safety Cabinets, Laminar Air, and ISO Class Cleanrooms) for a diverse market base including laboratory, research, pathology, forensics, pharmaceutical, electronics and aerospace.

MSL employs 55 people and is part of the SDI Group who specialise in the scientific industry.

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will have extremely high standards of personal presentation, be dependable and trustworthy, and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.

The right candidate will be confident to manage their own sales territory, offer technical solutions to customers and be able to drive sales growth, significantly contributing to the next phase of MSL’s business objectives.

Responsibilities of the Technical Sales Specialist will include:

The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for the development of sales and the achievement of sales targets through effective;

  • Prospecting– ie the realisation of sales opportunities gained through research and understanding of market requirements and developments and through strong relationships with customers.
  • Territory Management – the effective use of time to ensure a high level of customer face-to-face interactions.
  • Leads development –develop leads generated by the MSL Marketing team to sales stage as appropriate.
  • Customer visits –to understand customer needs and applications and to enable a strong customer preference for MSL products and solutions.
  • Use of Quotations– use quotations as proposals to prospective customers to highlight the benefit and price structure of the MSL offering.
  • Generation of Orders - through the diligent follow-up of quotations and by dealing with customer objections
  • Use other sales techniques such as customer site demonstrations, mini / foyer exhibitions to generate interest toward MSL products.
  • Attend exhibitions and other sales development events (on and off territory) as required.
  • Attend all in-house company meetings(sales meetings, product trainings etc) as required.
  • Report on a regular and as required basis regarding activity, market conditions and competitive activity on sales territory.

Essential key skills we’re looking for in our Technical Sales Specialist:

  • Confidence and an ability to sell technical solutions.
  • The ability to understand customer applications and needs (frequently science and chemistry) and to translate these into sales benefits and sales offerings.
  • Strong organisation, and self-motivation to manage a key UK sales territory.
  • Scientific or Technical Sales background is desirable.
