Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate and talented Technical Program Manager to help build our industry-leading Speech and Language technology. We are the Voices and Languages group within Amazon Text-to-Speech (TTS) and our challenge is to synthesise speech as natural and engaging as a human. We deliver voices, languages, styles and emotions to delight our customers across Amazon products and services.

In This Role You Will

As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams from design through to delivery, managing all related timelines. This position involves regular communication with senior management, stakeholders and customers on status, risks and change control. Cross-team coordination and excellent project management skills are essential.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own and manage how customer needs translate into development and launch of the perfect voice
  • Use your expertise to drive improvements in internal processes, scalability and voice quality
  • Drive deliverables such as new voices, styles and emotions in new and currently supported language domains in new and existing products and services.
  • Drive consistent results with a focus on customer satisfaction

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in Program and Project Management of product development
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Proven results-oriented person with a focus on delivery
  • Experience of creating, optimising and executing development processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Graduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in working in a product-focused R&D team with experience in driving innovation on algorithms or model development and deployment life cycle
  • Working knowledge in Machine Learning/Deep Learning
  • Working knowledge of human language technology (such as TTS, ASR and NLU)
  • Aptitude in professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization
