Technical Product Manager / Up to £35,000 DOE + Benefits / Tredegar, South Wales

The Company:
Our client is a market leader in their field. They manufacture and supply a range of products to healthcare providers across the UK and internationally. You would be joining a business that is experiencing a sustained period of growth, which could offer future progression opportunities. They are in the process of relocating their UK operation from Blackwood to Tredegar so that they can concentrate on maximising the potential of their organisation.

The Job:
Reporting to the Research & Development Manager, this newly created role will be responsible for the management and compliance of product labelling, supporting documentation and technical files for a strong portfolio of new and existing product development projects across health care products.

Key Responsibilities;
Managing of product technical files and associated documentation in accordance with the company Quality Management System (ISO 13485)
Preparing technical documents such as component specifications, risk management reports and technical reports for incorporation into product technical files
Design transfer and incorporation into production
ERP system management for new and existing product BOMs
Ensuring product and packaging labels and symbols remain compliant with the regulations
Writing of product instructions for use (IFU’s) in accordance with the regulations
Contributing to the determination of user needs and product requirement specifications
A proactive approach to project management to maintain project progress
Liaising with internal stakeholders, external clients, suppliers and consultants
Providing product training and support for internal and external customers
Assessing product features and functions to identify potential design and usability opportunities

The Person:
The successful candidate would ideally have the following skills and attributes:
Strong technical background with a high level of competency, both analytical and practical
Minimum five years postgraduate industrial experience in a design and development or product management role for mechanical / electro-mechanical products
Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, medical devices preferable but not essential
A logical and pragmatic approach to product management processes including the solution of technical problems with a capacity for original thinking
Strong project management skills with ability to present at various levels (verbally and visually)
The ability to work alone and unsupervised or as part of a closely integrated project team
An enthusiastic and organised approach to employment
Excellent verbal / written communication and PC skills (MS Office)
Proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, preferable but not essential

Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor degree or HND qualification in Engineering or similar / equivalent technical discipline

The Salary:£30,000 - £35,000 DOE
The Location: Tredegar, South Wales
Working hours:09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
The Benefits:25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday, a match contributory pension.
