Product Manager (Electrical Test & Measurement) - Co Durham, North East UK

(Candidates for this role must be either already based in the North East of the UK, or willing to relocate at short notice)

A new vacancy for a Product Manager with leading UK manufacturer of high-performance electrical instrumentation. Based at the company’s headquarters in County Durham (North East UK), the Product Manager will have full responsibility for a specific product category in a wide-ranging and challenging new role. Main responsibilities will include building relationships with key customers, distributors & OEM partners; leading the annual category planning process and defining the product strategy & road map; and outlining the commercial business case and full product specifications for NPD and product launch.

Candidate Profile
  • A BSc or above in Industrial Product Design, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Essential experience of working in the Electrical Test and Measurement sector.
  • Knowledge of effective management of product lifecycle stages.
  • Experience of sales performance management and corrective action to achieve sales volume targets.
  • Must be able to give evidence of working with a customer centric approach.
  • Demonstrate an attention for detail.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner across different levels of a business and to a global customer base.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent data interpretation skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Some travel will be required
Principal Electronics Engineer (Electrical Instrumentation) - Co Durham, North East UK

(Candidates for this role must be either already based in the North East of the UK, or willing to relocate at short notice)

A new vacancy for a Principal Electronics Engineer with leading UK manufacturer of high-performance electrical instrumentation. Based at the company’s headquarters in County Durham (North East UK), the job holder will be a key member of the Engineering Management team, providing leadership in the design in the design & development of electronic equipment requiring embedded solutions. The Principal Electronics Engineer will also assume full responsibility for the establishment of best practice design methods within the department, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with project specifications.

Candidate Profile
  • Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science-related discipline
  • Significant experience of electrical and electronics product development in relevant industry (Instrumentation or similar)
  • Demonstrable technical team management and leadership
  • Experience of modern ECAD tools including simulation of circuitry
  • Knowledge of the design of High Voltage and Power Electronics
  • Knowledge of best practice approaches for design in accordance with global EMC standards
  • Knowledge of quality and design standards (e.g., IEC 61010)
