Joining the Insurance Team offers a unique opportunity within Santander to be part of an end-to-end business unit contributing to decision making in all aspects from pricing, product design, marketing, finance to product exits. Using an analytical approach, you will be challenged and rewarded in equal measure; finding innovative ways to balance conflicting priorities and arrive at the best outcome for various stakeholders, in a challenging and changing regulatory environment. As part of the broader Wealth Management and Insurance division you will also be given the opportunity to work closely with group colleagues both in Spain and beyond, developing an understanding and appreciation of how the group operates in different markets across the globe. You’ll be working with Strategic Insurance Partners to develop, deliver and monitor pricing strategies across a range of on-sale and off-sale products. With the opportunity to directly influence customer outcomes and commercial strategies; you will work closely with senior leadership teams internally and externally to deliver against division and personal objectives. The difference you’ll make. Identifying, assessing and managing risks and controls for all projects in the Insurance portfolio in line with business, regulatory and audit priorities. Managing pricing algorithms on 3rd party insurance systems and ensuring that appropriate testing and checks are carried out to maintain their integrity. Managing the margin performance of insurance products, highlighting opportunities for improvement, and using data for competitive advantage. Monitoring the regulatory environment impacting Insurance practices and be reacting with expediency and rigour in the Santander response to such changes. Developing and maintaining key working relationships with third parties. Evaluating and changing programs and policies that are not working. What you’ll bring. A highly analytical approach to all things Pricing and Finance, including managing strategy, reviewing, and scrutinising proposals. Strong and demonstrable experience in reviewing/working with Third Parties and communicating the vision to a technical and non-technical audience. It would also be nice for you to have. Practical experience in the Insurance industry with an understanding of pricing strategy and the impacts of regulation and product decisions on the success of a proposition. The ability to Understand the customers’ needs, and then deliver the right products, services, and solutions in the right way and at the right time. An ability to work effectively with missing, incomplete, or conflicting data and still make effective business decisions. Prior knowledge in identifying opportunities and risks in commercial data using evidence-based tools, data analysis and systemic thinking. What else you need to know. The team consists of 3 members geographically dispersed in UK, so will require lots of virtual collaboration. The role is Milton Keynes based, with some flexible remote working allowed. There will be an expectation to attend the Milton Keynes office when agreed with your Line Manager. Interviews will be conducted face to face where possible, lasting up to 90 minutes in duration.
