Purpose of the Role

Responsibilities

Join the Manufacturing- Production Planning team as the Technical Manager- UPS & Production Controlwhere you’ll be responsible for providing technical strategic leadership, in depth technical knowledge and guidance, to support and ensure achievement of business objectives and technical development, delivering on time and within budget, and play a pivotal role in driving UPS commissioning to support Bentley beyond 100. Reporting into the Functional Manager, your main responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for deliverables to a specified timeframe, quality and cost- Manage workload on a daily basis and respond to both long term and short term task requests. Also, you will be responsible for leading prompt concern resolution on existing processes, the coordination of resource, and ability to provide containment solutions when necessary.
  • Developing and maintaining specialist technical and business knowledge and capability, to ensure appropriate technical direction is provided- Ability to lead on technical direction working with other departments/ functions.
  • Accountable for developing and influencing the strategic technical direction within specialist area- Support and provide technical knowhow and develop and gain agreement for the strategic technical direction/Technical Roadmaps within specialist area.
  • Maintain effective communication internally and within VW Group- Transparent issue escalation to senior management, accountable for identifying and escalating issues and risks to senior management.

About The Team

The HV & Electrical Planning department (PPMF) are responsible for the specification, validation & verification of the electrical test system software, which is developed by an in-house team. PPMF is also responsible for the support of Pre-Series and Series builds across the whole of Manufacturing, with specialist knowledge of the vehicle electrical systems, assisting with fault diagnosis on vehicles and raising concerns with the respective departments.

About You – Skills And Experience

  • Experience of process in projects and series production.
  • Strong influencing skills and communication, with a commitment to building positive relationships with other functions, and Group as an outward facing specialist.
  • Ability to share technical knowledge effectively with others, coach and guide as appropriate.
  • Demonstrable experience of process improvement activities within the specific technology.
  • Good business awareness and ability to make and influence strategic decisions within business context.
  • Understanding and ability to demonstrate behaviours in line with the Bentley People Framework.
