We are looking for a Technical Lead with an enthusiasm for new and emerging technologies who works best in a collaborative team environment. As a critical member of the engineering and architecture team, you will be working as part of an agile team with the aim to deliver a first in class service to our end customers. You will be participating in the evolution of the digital platform that will change the bank and how our customers interact with us.

As a Technical Lead of the team you will drive the design, implementation, testing, deployment and post-release support in an agile development environment. You will execute on engineering and release priorities successfully through strong leadership and communication.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Taking full ownership for the technical delivery, engineering excellence and quality design in BaaS API Delivery.
  • Building, deploying and maintaining Restful APIs and their communication with the down-stream systems.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers to further their technical prowess.
  • Delivering the portfolio to time, budget and quality.
  • Creating and designing vibrant applications to service our customer.
  • Maintaining and supporting the infrastructure for the platform


What We’re Looking For
  • An experienced Senior API Engineer with experience in Java, and standard web backend architecture delivery and management.
  • Strong experience in design and development of micro-services with a java software engineering background.
  • Background in solution design with architecture diagrams, data flows and system component diagrams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels, you will be able to direct the scrum team’s focus to what matters most.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to break down complex problems and propose solutions.
  • Experience working with agile methods and usage of Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
  • Previous technical experience with React Redux, AWS, RDS/SQL, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.


What Else You Need To Know

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This role will be based in Milton Keynes.
