The primary role of the Data Support Co-Ordinator is to support the IPS Team in obtaining and closing down all outstanding/required external data dependencies to allow Production Services to fulfil its contractual requirements.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for ensuring that activities under your control are undertaken in accordance with the requirements set out in the AWL SHE Policy, Health & Safety Operating manual, Health, Safety & Environment Management System Manual (HSE MSM). These documents identify your key responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Environmental Protection Act and other relevant HS&E legislation.

  • Functionally reporting to the Principal Workflow Engineers for your day to day duties you will support them in the discharging of the IPS activities.
    Manage and sustain a listing of all data requirements required for current contracted tasks.
  • Liaise with all relevant external departments on answering data requirements in a timely fashion to allow Production Services to meet its delivery requirements
  • Escalate any overdue or critical issues which are not believed to be getting the right attention in the relevant areas
  • Produce a status report on where all data requirements outstanding with issues for escalation
  • Produce reports to ensure Production Services have the correct and latest Engineering Standards available and tasked for incorporation as required
  • Ensure status of external data requirements is maintained within the Production Services management system, and associated tasks are aligned with current status
  • Identify and refer any issues that affect your ability to discharge those tasks and projects to your Team Leader/Line Manager in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ensure as necessary work is performed in a consistent manner across all platforms and if not identify process improvements/harmonisation ideas to your team leader/line manager
  • Manage and highlight engineering source data changes e.g. STR/ETI/WEI/ATS/ATP’s/FTI’s/SCD’s/CC’s/CR’s etc., Safety Documentation and MFTP’s (Military Flight Test Plan) to ensure relevant information is aligned as practicable.
  • Ensure the correct use of the respective business systems to ensure outstanding data is tasked in the appropriate manner for other departments to acknowledge and progress. This includes CRM/SAP and Serena.

Qualifications

  • You will possess a HNC level in a relevant aviation related subject, alternatively, to have completed a recognized engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and overhaul, sufficient to gain the necessary practical experience for the job role.
  • Knowledge of technical authoring and production tools e.g. Framemaker, LSAR’s (EAGLE) Eagle Publishing System (EPS) and CAPS2000.
  • Understand the data requirements to produce IPS Technical Data
  • Have the ability to interpret engineering drawings and use Dassault Enovia
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Have ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure
  • Written communication skills, the ability to document results from the audits performed and documenting validation reports and plans
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work as part of an integrated team as well as independently
  • Support the timely delivery of the agreed updates/creation of Publications and IPS technical data to meet the requirements of all stakeholders.

Working relationships

  • Reporting to the relevant Production Services Manager
  • Functionally reporting to the Principal Engineer IPS Co-Ordinator
    • Direct working relationships with the following positions or departments:
      All Production Services functional areas
      Engineering/CPE/Operations/ Safety department/Engineering functions
      Procurement for supplier requirements
      Partner with Technical data teams
      Customer Support Programme Management areas
      Business Units for emerging new programmes.
