Are you an experienced Allied Health Professional or Nurse, who is ready to take on a clinical leadership role in a multi-disciplinary team? Are you ready for the next step in your career in mental health? If so, you should apply for our team manager role in the new Specialist Older Adults Mental Health (SOAMHS) Service.

Exciting opportunities have arisen following a review of provision of mental health services for older people at West London NHS Trust. We are in the fortunate position of transforming and expanding our service to meet the needs of older people with mild to severe mental health needs. We are looking for dynamic innovative staff to be part of a team that will work therapeutically to support older patients in their mental health recovery in the community.

We are recruiting two Band 8A Team managers, one in Hammersmith and Fulham and one in Ealing. We want to hear from you if you are dedicated, flexible, forward thinking with clinical skills and experience in working therapeutically with older people with mental health difficulties.

The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Allied Health Professional or Nurse to build upon and advance their leadership and managerial skills. The focus of the role is on providing clinical leadership in the development of the new SOAMHS mild to moderate service and in and day to day running of this service. The focus of the service will be to ensure that patients receive assessment and therapeutic intervention to maximise their independence, safety and wellbeing.

The interventions will include education, individual work and group work and will involve working closely with patients, carers, statutory and voluntary agencies, within a multi-disciplinary team. They will hold their own complex caseload of patients.

The post holder will be based in one of the community teams in Hammersmith and Fulham and Ealing and they will be managing a multidisciplinary team, and will be based in the community sites in H&F or Ealing.

We would love you to apply if you are an experienced Allied Health Professional or Nurse with a passion to drive forward excellent care for older people with mental health problems.

West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of mental health, community and social care in the UK.

Our 3,982 staff care for people in hospital and in the community, helping them to recover and go on to lead full and productive lives. We aim to be the best organisation of our kind in the country.

We provide care and treatment for more than 800,000 people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries and care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

We’re rated good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Together, we’re committed to promoting hope and wellbeing, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.

We are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the community it serves, particularly in terms of ethnicity, gender, disability, LGBTQ+ and experience of mental illness.

The regulations mandating vaccination for in-scope roles in the NHS have now been removed. The Trust does however continue to encourage and support staff to be vaccinated as this remains the best line of defence against COVID19. Vaccination data will be collected by our recruitment team during your on-boarding if you are happy to provide a copy of your COVID pass.

The Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a supportive, caring, integrated service where staff work together closely to support our patients and their families. We have strong links with medical teams, Allied Health Professionals, Carers and the local community.

We value diversity and are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the community it serves, particularly in terms of ethnicity, gender, disability and sexuality. We are immensely proud of our staff and their passion, professionalism and dedication to changing people’s lives. If you share that passion and want to make a difference, then come and join us.
