Team Manager

United Response is an award-winning charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs or physical disabilities to take control of their lives and to get involved in their community. We do this in many different ways, from supporting people in their own homes to working with people to access training and work opportunities. We support around 2,000 people in over 300 locations across England and Wales and employ over 3,500 staff.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Team Manager to oversee a number of Supported Living Services on a day to day basis, you will be an experienced role model while coaching person-centred support and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the complex support needs of people with mental health issues, physical and learning difficulties.

This is a responsible role which is extremely rewarding for someone who is proactive while giving structured and consistent encouragement, guidance and support to members of your Team. You will have accountability for people management on a day to day basis and personal development across the team.

What does a Team Manager do:


  • Leading and mentoring a small staff team.
  • Managing staff on a day-to-day basis with responsibility of undertaking supervisions and appraisals.
  • Playing a part in recruitment and retention of staff
  • Building strong working relationships with customers, regulators and other important stakeholders.
  • Being point of contact or families and other professionals

What we need from you:

  • Experience of leading a team in a social care setting
  • Experience in staff performance management
  • Experience of leading by example and role modelling good practice.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Social Care management or equivalent
  • Knowledge of CQC standards
  • A can do will do attitude
