Main duties of the job
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to lead the Children’s Occupational Therapy service, in Gwynedd and Anglesey counties of Betsi Cadwaladr Local Health Board.
The post has both managerial and clinical components. The successful candidate will lead a small team of Occupational therapy staff and be responsible for leading on supervision and professional development of the staff within the department as well as supporting the service through the new Additional Leaning Needs Act.
The post-holder as part of the role will also provide assessment and clinical input on a one session a week basis to the local Special Care Baby Unit working with the neonatal children, families and staff of the unit and other therapists to assist in introducing and maintaining developmental care principles.
The Occupational Therapy Children’s team is a community service providing assessment and intervention to a wide range ages and conditions, notably co-ordination disorders, cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions , as well as functional assessment and intervention to the neurodevelopmental children . The team lead will be responsible for the direction of clinical developments and be responsive to the national waiting times targets and the demands of the wider children’s and Occupational Therapy services.
This post will form part of the Occupational Therapy service management Team and will have support and supervision through that team.
