GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY

Custom primers at Inchinnan support 100s of custom primers skus for scientific research. The products are from the portfolios of biosciences, Genetic & clinical divisions within the life sciences group. The team report through the the BPG division .

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the team leader is to ensure that all technicians are supported to ensure that the the team can perform the day to day tasks. Ensure all daily KPIs are met and work closely with all supporting functions on site. Able to prioritize & escalate any opportunities or issues .Ensure we meet our customer requirements for the various products we manufacture within the primers team .

Manage , develop & coach employees to ensure we are working safely producing a high quality product for our scientific customers..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all health and safety measures in place, participate and lead EHS initiatives
  • Work in a safe manner and be familiar with COSHH and Risk Assessments for all processes.
  • People manager and main point of contact for all technicians when on shift
  • Devise PPI initiatives drive continuous improvement activity & support high revenue projects
  • Develops & manages their direct reports & supports all manufacturing technicians
  • Write and update standard operating procedures and work instructions for processes using the Electronic Document Management System.
  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others within the team and the site to meet shared objectives and goals .
  • Participate in personal development opportunities to further enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position
  • Use root cause analysis to determine and implement preventative/corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at significant manufacturing experience in a high through- manufacturing facility
  • Previous people manager experience
  • Have excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Preferred to be educated to minimum degree level in Biology, Chemistry or related discipline
  • Preferred knowledge of oligonucleotide synthesis or managing a scientific team.
  • Ability to work under pressure in multiple tasks and manage priorities independently.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to excellence
  • Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft packages ( i.e Word, Excel, Powerpoint, teams)
  • Use of E1 JD Edwards system, Agile and Trackwise or QMS sytems advantageous
  • Experience of working in an ISO 13485 , GMP/GLP laboratory
