A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE: Reporting into the Royalties Manager, the Team Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Youth and Children’s team, assisting with general administration and being a central point of contact for the team. The role involves working closely with the Youth & Children’s publishing, editorial, marketing, legal and finance teams.

This role would suit someone who is looking to work in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to multi-task in order to meet tight deadlines.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: *

  • General administration
  • Managing the magazine free list for the Youth and Children’s portfolio
  • Archiving magazines and ensuring that costs are limited by reviewing what we have in storage
  • Distributing & displaying magazines across the floor
  • Raising purchase orders for the Youth & Children’s team
  • Booking transport, off-site meetings & hotels
  • Submitting expenses for the senior team
  • Ordering stationery
  • Maintaining bound copies
  • Updating the department floor plan
  • Answering complaints and dealing with customer queries
  • Assisting the Team & Royalties Manager with ad hoc tasks, e.g. sending out/filing contracts & royalty statements, liaising with our accounts team, communicating with external licensors
  • Producing and emailing out monthly competitor magazine updates
  • Assisting the team on an ad-hoc basis e.g. events

  • Approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems
  • Ability to juggle schedules and effectively manage a number of simultaneous projects with different deadlines
  • Ability to think clearly and calmly when faced with issues or conflicting priorities
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills
  • Can work independently in a structured manner or as part of a team
  • Customer service values
  • Foresight to anticipate issues
  • Hands on, proactive and flexible approach with a ‘can do’ attitude
