Pay: Kent Range 3 Start Date: 1 September 2021 We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at St Stephen’s Infant School in Key Stage
  • You should be a positive and enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to strive for their best. Whilst experience is desirable, it is not essential; your numeracy and literacy will be of a high enough standard to support and extend children throughout the infant age range. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, a good sense of humour, and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential. Responsibilities will include: Leading groups of children in focus interventions Supporting children in achieving the lesson objective in literacy, maths and across all areas of the curriculum Feeding back to the class teacher and sometimes keeping records of progress and behaviour, i.e. Tapestry Working with different year groups to support any social, emotional, behavioural or medical needs Preparing resources and some administrative work Displaying children’s work creatively Lunch duty Some cover supervision. Above all, you need to be determined to help our children achieve their best, and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work. You must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.   • The postholder is required to work for 38 weeks per year, plus 5 Inset Days. In addition, the postholder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, Bank Holidays and the KCC concessionary day.
