TA1 .1-4 depending on experience + SEN allowance

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT POST

1-1 support for a child with additional needs – to start in September 2021

18 hrs per week -, times negotiable

A new opportunity has arisen for a caring teaching assistant, with experience of working with young children with SEN. The ideal candidate will be able to help develop social and communication skills, interact with others and help the children access the curriculum. The right person will be able to work alongside a small, established team, have a good sense of humour, good communication skills, be organised and punctual, have excellent behaviour management and motivation techniques and be committed to high quality care and education.

The post holders will need to be able to work on their own initiative and under the direction of the class teacher. The children in question often tire or need plans adapting to suit them. It is desirable that the candidate will be educated to level 3 (NVQ) or equivalent and have a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Teaching phonics is desirable but otherwise, the candidate should be willing to learn.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we are not able to do normal, day time visits for candidates, when children are in school. However, we would love to meet you in person, after the school day, from 3.30pm by appointment.
