Teacher Training Director (SCITT)
Leicester, Leicestershire
Full Time, Permanent
£78,000 - £83,000 per annum (potentially negotiable)
Tide Partnership are working with, a leading education provider, is seeking an experienced and motivated SCITT Director to lead the strategic and operational development of their secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. In this role, you will shape the current and future quality of the teaching profession by providing high-quality training and professional development to all teacher trainees.
As the School-Centred Initial Teacher Training Secondary Programme Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational development of the Leicestershire Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme, ensuring that trainees receive high-quality training beyond the minimum entitlement as set out in the Core Content Framework.
Job responsibilities include (not limited to):
- L ead the strategic and operational development of the secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
- Coordinate the programme to ensure quality and consistency across participating institutions.
- Deliver high-quality training to trainees beyond the minimum entitlement set out in the Core Content Framework.
- Provide sustained professional development for all teacher trainees.
- Provide inspirational and effective leadership, vision and strategic focus to achieve the highest levels of performance and ensure a culture of continuous improvement and continuous professional development across the programme and its partners.
- Monitor, audit and evaluate the quality of all aspects of the programme delivery and report regularly, including relevant external benchmarking, to the Responsible Officer/Partnership Group, executive and other relevant stakeholders as required.
- Work with external agencies, including DfE, the East Midlands network of ITT providers, NASBTT, and the University of Leicester to ensure the SCITT is correctly following national policies for ITT.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing teacher training programmes.
- Experience in leading and managing teams.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive experience in teacher training and education.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven track record of leading and managing high-quality training programs.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
